Table 1
During class, you will work in groups to fill out Table 1, which compares various aspects of the range of different types of imaging studies. There will be a row for each type of study, and columns for various aspects of the studies. Here is an explanation of the column headings, to facilitate your in-class discussion. You do NOT need to fill out the table before class, but just think about what each column heading means. As you go through these cases, think about what allows you to identify each type of study.

This is the first page of the ACR website (American College of Radiology, just type 'acr.org' in your browser), which does not require any login to enter. If you select 'Clinical Resources' from the upper white menu bar, you will get a page with many listed resources--choose 'ACR Appropriateness Criteria' from the overview (2nd item in first column), then scroll down until you see a button 'Access the Criteria'. This will bring you to a search page that allows you to explore the most appropriate imaging for common clinical scenarios. We will go over this in more detail in class, but if you want to explore the site ahead of time, it is freely accessible.
