Learning Objectives:

After review of online resources and in class mini-consolidation, students will be able to:

1. Recognize and describe features of a CT image, compared to other types of imaging (ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and MRI), including technical factors such as imaging plane, presence or absence of contrast, and display window.

2. Describe fat stranding on a CT image, including how it differs from normal fat appearance, and list five potential causes and three common sites where this finding may be seen in the abdomen.
