After completion of this self-directed learning module on Imaging of Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Vasculature and Pleural Disease, students will be able to:
- Use appropriate imaging descriptors for the various appearances on chest radiography that can be seen in lung cancer, correlating areas of disease with staging.
- Recognize adenopathy on chest CT, including the significance of hilar vs ipsilateral or contralateral nodes in terms of lung cancer staging.
- Describe a method to determine normal size of the main pulmonary artery on chest radiography, and understand the possible causes of central pulmonary artery enlargement, as well as enlargement of distal pulmonary artery branches.
- Recognize the appearance of pleural disorders on chest radiography and list four possible causes of pleural masses.
Case 1-lung cancer
Case 2-other tumors
Case 3--pulmonary vascular disease
Case 4-pleural disease
